Hi! I’m Pastor Mike Temple. I’m a full-time God-follower, husband, father, and minister. In 2003, I began a daily radio devotional called The Open Word on 3 radio stations in Southwest, North Dakota. That radio devotional ran for 7 ½ years, and in 2009 I added a daily e-Devotional that is delivered to subscriber’s e-mail inboxes every morning. The Open Word Journey is an extension of this ministry, and I hope it’s a blessing to you. Here’s a bit of information about my family members:
My beautiful wife Roberta and I have been married for 30+ years. She’s my high school sweetheart, and the love of my life. We enjoy being mom and dad to three grown children. We’re best friends, and she is my ministry partner. She loves to crochet, and is a voracious reader. She’s a self-proclaimed “nerd” that enjoys being a mom more than any other activity. Roberta was partially paralyzed in a motor vehicle accident in 1990. Someday I will have her tell her inspiring story. It’s an amazing reminder that God is always there.
Taylor is our eldest daughter. She is married, and lives in Minnesota with her husband, Albert. She’s very musical, and we love to play guitar and sing together. She’s a “daddy’s girl,” and I love spending time with her.
Madeleine (Maddie) is our middle child. She’s just finishing up her stint in college, and will graduate with an English degree. She loves to travel, is very creative, and is also a “daddy’s girl” who embraces each moment that life brings her way.
Michael (Mikey) is our youngest child. He finished high school last year, and is spending a year working and deciding what to do with his future. Mikey is an adventurous young man who has a heart for people. He is everyone’s friend. A little while ago, Michael went sky-diving. It caused his dad to pray even more than normal.
